Department of Communities and Justice and Homes NSW Addendum
Groundswell NGO representatives were meeting with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) prior to the formation of the Waterloo Collaborative around tenant and NGO service concerns. The groundwork for the shape of the Collaborative grew out of these meetings. Similar meetings between Groundswell and Sydney Local Health District enabled a solid core for the commencement of the Collaborative.
In early 2024 DCJ Housing was transferred into a new Homes NSW section within DCJ. As much of the Addendum covered work within Homes NSW it is now lead by Homes NSW who liaises with other sections of DCJ.
The DCJ / Homes NSW Addendum reflects areas of work being undertaken by DCJ that have arisen from ongoing regular meetings between DCJ with Groundswell. The Addendum is a single agency plan where DCJ responds to issues raised by tenants and agencies to Groundswell and DCJ.
The DCJ Addendum as a single agency plan complements the multi agency work of the Collaborative.
This addendum changes over time as new issues are added, issues unpacked and implemented, initiatives are completed or become business as usual.
